Faber recently announced the promotion of Jodi Stanfield to the role of Senior Counsel. The promotion reflects Stanfield’s emergence as a leader of its global clinical trials transactional practice and one of its most experienced lawyers working on the application of GDPR and other privacy laws in this practice area.

Stanfield’s promotion is particularly significant because she is one of the firm’s lawyers who works fully remotely. “I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Zug, and yet work successfully for a dynamic law firm that is a leader in biopharmaceutical transactional work in the US.”

Stanfield is a California-licensed attorney who began her career working for a Global 100 law firm. She then joined the in-house legal department of a multi-national contract research organization, and was already based in Switzerland when she joined the firm in November of 2014. At the time, working from home posed a unique set of potential challenges. “I had to learn how to interact and work with a team despite the distance. It required some flexibility on my part, including recognizing that my day wouldn’t be a 9 to 5 situation and that work demands would be more blended with what I do on a personal level.” But Stanfield says that forward thinking firm leadership coupled with thoughtful accommodation proved invaluable as she navigated the distance. “Faber is unique in its commitment to the idea that people can be productive and effective when working remotely.
