Faber Daeufer & Itrato recently welcomed Maria Stracqualursi as its newest Associate. With several years’ experience working in corporate practice groups, Stracqualursi is well versed in assisting start-up tech companies and representing clients from formation to exit, including venture financing and M&A transactions. “Maria is a strong associate who will be bringing valuable experience and perspectives to our group,” said Faber principal Kurt Machemer.  “She will be assisting clients on a variety of venture finance and corporate organizational and transactional matters, and counseling clients on general governance.”

Faber continues to experience increasing demand for its counsel with company formation and venture financing for early-stage drug development companies, and for M&A transactions for companies with more mature programs.  In response, the firm has substantially grown its capacity in this practice group – more than doubling it over the past 3 years at each of the Principal, Associate, and Paralegal levels. Stracqualursi is an important part of this growth.

When considering a move to Faber, Stracqualursi said that she found the idea of gaining expertise in life sciences appealing, particularly with the industry’s prevalence within the Boston area. She also said that the Faber team left a great impression on her. “The people I interviewed with were all bright (in both intelligence and demeanor) and seemed very happy to be here.”

Another major aspect of her decision to join the firm was Faber’s philanthropic commitments. “I wanted to be in a place that cares about the well-being of its employees and community, and that comes across very strongly here.” She said that she looks forward to participating in Faber’s firmwide days of service and hopefully traveling to Montgomery, AL as part of the firm’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s educational program.

Looking forward, Stracqualursi said that she aspires to learn more about the particular business needs of life sciences companies “so that I can form deeper relationships with my clients and better assist them. I’m excited about working with such a fantastic team of attorneys and soaking up as much of their mentorship and shared knowledge as possible!”

Firm leadership is also excited to see what Stracqualursi accomplishes in her new role. “We look forward to her providing thoughtful advice to our bread-and-butter clients, early-stage life science focused companies and the venture capitalists who invest in them,” said Machemer.
